Happy Birthday Reese - Part 3

 We had a little get together with Grandma and Grandpa last night on Reese's birthday.  Some pizza, presents, cake  - the usual fun.

 Are ya gettin the feeling that Bran thinks this is all about him too?  :  )

 This gift is for Reese and our whole family!  The poor thing is always trying to play the piano and everyone is cussing her to quit because they can't hear the TV or something really important like that!  Sheesh!  This keyboard comes with earphones!  Horray!!!

Grandma Chris got Reese this cool make-it-yourself star quilt.  Reese was VERY thrilled.  Oh yea - and the awesome ballet slipper socks she has on.  Cute cute.

Happy Birthday Reese - Part 2

I guess it has become a tradition to have a big waffle breakfast on Reese's birthday.  She LOVES waffles.  I asked her what she wanted for dinner on her birthday when Grandma and Grandpa were coming over.  Her reply - waffles.  Which is pretty much her reply anytime I ask her about food.  WAFFLES!
So we did waffles for breakfast.

Waffles were enjoyed by all!

Happy Birthday Reese - Part 1

Reese is eleven!  Oh man!  I can hardly believe it!  Because of the big gap in ages between Bran and Reese, she kinda feels like my baby - because she was for so long.  So it is kinda freakin' me out that she's growing up!  She is such a sweet, fun girl.  We are so glad she's a part of our family.

For her birthday this year she wanted to take some friends to swim in Jackson.  So we planned a Saturday, called the friends, and off we went!  Much fun to follow!

Well, we arrive at the pool in Jackson and see many buses parked out front.  Oh no.  Yep - the girls go and check and there is a swim meet today which means we can't swim until 4:00.  It is now 1:00.  If you only knew how many times this happens to me!  Sheeesh!  You'd think I'd actually pick up the phone and call the pool BEFORE I drive! In my defense - I always check the website to find out swim times and such - but apparently they don't actually post when special events come up.  Note to self - CALL!!
So what to do now?!?   . . . . . 
Ah ha!  Grandpa Jonesy's house!
So we head up to Trinity Ranch.  Great idea!  And it was!  Grandpa let them play around the barn for a bit and then took them up to the hot tub.  Oh the fun that was had!  It was a cold, snowy and windy day - perfect hot tub weather!

Oh the fun!  Then Grandpa let them walk around the main house and look around.

 So actually the day worked out better than I planned.  We went back to Jackson, went swimming as planned, ate some dinner, and then home.  It was a great day! 

Trick or Treat!

We had a fun night trick or treating, but are getting more few in numbers as the years go on.  Sniff.  However, I did inform Reese that she WILL be trick or treating until she's 18!  I'm not joking!  In 9 years Bran will be officially done with trick or treating - so Reese must hold out that long!  Poor girl!  And poor ME! 
I will be 47!!!!  He he he!  Trick or treating for almost HALF A CENTURY?!? Now that's a lot of tootsie rolls!!  I am such an old mamma - it totally makes me laugh.  Ah well.  Keepin' me young - right?  :  )

 Reese's good friend Taylor did go with us too - Hurray Tay!  You saved Reese!
They did seem to have a lot of fun.   They were brave at the spooky houses!

Oh yea!  And his rifle did come in handy after all!  They were getting out of the car to go to a particularly SPOOKY house and Reese and Tay were a little nervous and hesitant.  Bran quickly said (while pointing his gun toward the house) - don't worry girls!  I'll cover ya!

Instead of costumes at Reese's school for Halloween - they have "crazy hair day".  I'm sure glad Rae is excited about this too!  She woke up early to make this year's creation for Reese!

He he he!  Pretty fun!  Reese said her teacher kept looking at her and then said, "Sorry Reese!  I keep glancing your way - thinking that you are raising your hand!"  She thought that was pretty funny.

And what did the crazy boy finally decide to dress up like?!?   Come on - what else?!?!
A mighty HUNTER!  Why did we even consider anything else?

 He got to paint his own face at school too!  Doesn't get better than that!

The Great Pumpkin

Carving time again!  I sure do love it that Rae likes this kinda thing now a days - and she's really good at helping the kids and doing the project entirely on their own!  Awesome!!

And Brady is no where to be seen.  He and Kelly were very occupied watching football - and Brady couldn't be bothered with mere pumpkins!  Sheesh!  Come on boys!!

While they were watching the game, Bran was modeling more ideas for Halloween!

Yahoo!  Jack-o-lantern success!  Cute!  But next time let's figure out how exactly to spell FOOTLOOSE before we carve it on a pumpkin!!  ; )   He he he!
