The Mediator

Funny funny Bran story --

On Sunday Bran had a hard time going to his new sunbeam class.  He has loved it until now, but he was sick and missed last week, so maybe he forgot it was fun.  Anyway, I went with him for the first little bit.  All of our primary kids meet in the chapel before splitting for class to learn the scripture of the month while teachers have time to set up for their classes.  Well, the scripture that we learned on Sunday is -“Wherefore, men are free . . . to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men” (2 Nephi 2:27).
The teacher was going over the scripture a lot, repeating it so the kids could learn it.  Brannen turns to me and says, "Which one is the Mediator?  The one with the sharp sharp teeth?  Or like the plant eater one?" 
I totally busted a gut!!  He seriously thought the Mediator was a dinosaur!  And he was just trying to figure out which one!  He even said it right - Mediator - but I think he thought - Meat eater.  Funny!  Totally made my day!  His three year old brain is great  :  ). 

Snowball

Why is it the only time I blog lately is when Rae goes on a date?  Hmmm . . .   I think I need to remember to take more pictures around here.

Well anyway, on Saturday night was the "Snowball"-- a girls choice dance that Rae was excited about.  She's always excited for a chance to dress up and go somewhere!  She asked her friend Dayne Abrams to go with her - and they doubled with her friend Tinsley and her date Andy.  And they had a great time.

 You know, in order to actually go on a date, you must ask your intended (and reply) in a very creative and fun way.  Well, Rae didn't dissapoint and Dayne didn't either.   Rae hid snowballs in Dayne's yard with her question (I hear he spent most of the night trying to find the darn things!) and he replied by creating this snowman and leaving it on our lawn. 

 Rae had a mess to clean up after she dug through the shredded paper snowman to find his answer.  Seriously!  Isn't high school fun!  The silly things they do.  :  )

 Okay folks - if you don't have one- the KINECT is serious fun!  We have loved loved ours.  Anytime there are extra kids here it is the game of choice.  Especially when boys are around - Rae loves to laugh at their dancing efforts.  Just Dance 3 is great!  And the boys are good sports!  Good clean fun!!! 
Oh yea Aunt Jen!  I never posted pictures of the new tv we got and wall unit that Barry and Kelly built!  Oops!  Well - there ya go!  You can see it there.  It has made our downstairs much more user friendly.  We spend much more time down there.  It is nice to have a place for kids to hang out and play.

 I'm sad I missed Dayne striking a pose!  Oh well - another time maybe.

The class that was in charge set up lots of games in the hall like air hockey and foozeball  - so they could go do that too in between dancing.  Rae said she found out just how competitive Dayne is!!  ; )

Sledding

 During the Christmas holiday break, Rae and her friends went sledding a few times.  Thankfully they took Brannen for a while.  He was thrilled!

 It is fantastic to have big boys to pull him back up the hill!  And twice the fun!

Brady

Just because Brady hasn't been in enough pain this year - we decided to have the poor kid's tonsils taken out before the year ended (yep - had to do it while our deductible was met). 
Brady has decided that getting your tonsils out is no picnic!  It has been miserable for him.  But he really needed it done - and I guess in the long run we will be glad.  The surgery was on Dec. 27th - and he's just barely starting to feel better.  He's lost 10 pounds!  Yes - he needs to begin eating again - he looks a bit thin :  ) 

As you can imagine - Brady loved it that I took these pictures!  ;  )

We are so glad that operation tonsils 2011 is finished!!

More Fun

We all went to the bowling alley the day after Christmas and had some more fun. 

 

Rae was a great sport later that afternoon and pulled all the kids on the sled behind the four wheeler. 

Christmas Morning

It was great fun!  Santa even remembered to bring Brannen a "lever action".  I guess he wasn't on the naughty list after all!  I coulda swore he was . . . . . .

 Katie, Kevan and Adell came to visit us for a few days.  My kids sure enjoyed playing with cutie Adell.  She's a doll.

 Kevan found a great golf club cover for Kelly.

 There it is!  Oh the joy! Fun! Happiness!

 And yes - a puzzle WAS put together!  Good times!
